The vegetation part of both the Lentic and Lotic Wetland Inventory Forms displays habitat types (HT) and community types (CT) as the climax or dominant overstory species and understory species "6-letter codes or 7-letter codes" separated by a slash followed by an "HT" or a "CT". If, after viewing the data, you have questions about the identity of HT or CT, you can query the HT/CT Database or view the HT/CT Code List to get the scientific and common names of types for which you need a translation of the 6-letter codes (United States) or 7-letter codes (Canada).
