Salix amygdaloides (peach-leaf willow) Community Type

The Salix amygdaloides (peach-leaf willow) community type is common along rivers and streams of central and eastern Montana. It is also found around reservoirs, stock dams, potholes, and lakes in the region. This site is along the Tongue River on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation southwest of Ashland, Montana (elevation is approximately 924 m; 3,050 ft).
