Mature Stand of the Salix exigua (sandbar willow) Community Type

Relatively undisturbed sites of the Salix exigua (sandbar willow) community type tend to form a nearly impenetrable stand. These stands are extremely valuable to wildlife. This site is along the Milk River west of Dodson, Montana (elevation is approximately 712 m; 2,350 ft).
