Cottonwood Gallery Forest

A cottonwood gallery forest on the Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River near Loma, Montana (elevation is approximately 864 m; 2,850 ft). The forest is dominated by Populus deltoides (Great Plains cottonwood) types with a narrow fringe of the Salix exigua (sandbar willow) community type along the bank.
