Sarcobatus vermiculatus/Agropyron smithii (black greasewood/western wheatgrass) Habitat Type
This habitat type occupies saline/alkaline floodplains throughout the Northern Great Plains. Many such sites are quite extensive. This one is along Sage Hen Creek, a tributary of the Musselshell River east of Mosby, Montana (elevation is approximately 818 m; 2,700 ft).
