Abies lasiocarpa/Calamagrostis canadensis (subalpine fir/bluejoint reedgrass) Habitat Type, Ligusticum canbyi (Canby's licorice-root) phase

Occurs along subirrigated stream terraces, pond margins, wet meadows, and moist toeslopes at mid to high elevations. The Ligusticum canbyi (Canby's licorice-root) phase is characterized by a high occurrence of wet-site herbaceous species and few shrubs. This site is along Divide Creek south of Skalkaho Pass, southwest of Philipsburg, Montana (elevation is approximately 2,164 m; 7,100 ft).
