Phalaris arundianacea (reed canarygrass) Habitat Type

Located along streams, rivers, oxbows, lake and pond margins, ditches, irrigation channels, and in wet meadows. Although the species is native, it has been widely distributed as a forage, and readily escapes from pastures into riparian or wetland areas. This site is along the Bull River, north of Noxon, Montana (elevation is approximately 701 m; 2,300 ft).
