Salix geyeriana/Calamagrostis canadensis (Geyer willow/bluejoint reedgrass)Habitat Type

Occupies essentially the entire floodplain. The site is codominated by Salix geyeriana (Geyer willow) and Salix boothii (Booth willow). The soils are coarse textured and well drained. Slightly drier microsites allow for the periodic invasion of conifer species. This site is along the Boulder River west of Basin, Montana (elevation is approximately 1,829 m; 6,000 ft).
