Salix bebbiana (Bebb willow) Community Type

This site is presently dominated by large, old growth Salix bebbiana (Bebb willow). The umbrella-shaped form indicates prolonged high browse use levels. The understory is composed of a variety of herbaceous "weedy" species. This site is along the Big Hole River near Glen, Montana (elevation is approximately 1,494 m; 4,900 ft).
