Scripus acutus (hardstem bulrush) dominates a lakeshore environment. It acts as a buffer to wave action during high wind events. It also provides valuable habitat for a variety of wildlife. This site is along Browns Lake southeast of Ovando, Montana (elevation is approximately 1,242 m; 4,100 ft).
