Salix drummondiana (Drummond willow) Community Type

This community has been severely affected by livestock, causing the elimination of many willows. High-lined, or umbrella-shaped, form of the remaining willows show the impact of current use. The understory is dominated by such disturbance species as Taraxacum officinale (common dandelion). This site is a wet meadow north of Condon, Montana (elevation is approximately 1,121 m; 3,700 ft) with the Swan Range behind.
