Pseudotsuga menziesii/Cornus stolonifera (Douglas fir/red-osier dogwood) Habitat Type

In this photo the site codominated by Populus trichocarpa (black cottonwood) and Pseudotsuga menziesii (Douglas fir). However, the community represents a mid-seral stage of the Pseudotsuga menziesii/Cornus stolonifera (Douglas fir/red-osier dogwood) habitat type. This site is along the Blackfoot River west of Lincoln, Montana (elevation is approximately 1,333 m; 4,400 ft).
