Coniferous-Dominated Floodplain

In western Montana, where floodplain materials contain larger particles to buffer the effects of high flow events, floodplain communities are typically dominated by conifers. This site is along the Gallatin River near the confluence with the North Fork Spanish Creek, southwest of Bozeman, Montana (elevation is approximately 1,636 m; 5,400 ft).
