Beaver Dam Complex

A beaver activity mosaic of types near Birch Creek in the southwestern corner of the Blackfeet Reservation on the Rocky Mountains East Front in Montana (elevation is approximately 1,424 m; 4,700 ft) includes open water, a Carex rostrata (beaked sedge), habitat type, a Salix geyeriana/Carex rostrata (Geyer willow/beaked sedge) habitat type, and a Salix geyeriana/Calamagrostis canadensis (Geyer willow/bluejoint reedgrass) habitat type. Salix boothii (Booth willow) dominates the shrub communities.
